CVS, the second largest pharmacy in the USA, is going to stop selling cigarettes on October 1, 2014. CVS CEO said that selling cigarettes is inconsistent with "CVS purpose." This is no doubt a giant step in a healthier direction and a giant brand affinity push, but cynics among us can't help but draw the conclusion that selling soda and sugar-infested, hyper-processed food got to be consistent with CVS purpose, because, as of yet, there's no word on whether they will be pulled from shelves, too.
