This is a dream comes true. On October 17th 2008. Ok, now seriously. Which world these people exactly live in? Better yet, what is the year they live in? I haven't heard that anyone uses the word "killer app" since Google was invented. Speaking of Google, aren't they doing contextual (yes, that's one type of targeting, other two being behavioral and demographic) advertising almost since about that time? Many, many, years later in the same advertising land, ad networks discovered that the best chance for their banner ads to survive is to be targeted. At least, that's the talk of the town. If users can forget the bad rep of banners, it's really not such a bad move. It works the best when used in the combo w impressions & click-through rates metrics. Just like in the good old days. Too bad Mad Men didn't have the Internet back then. They would have used it in exactly the same way.
